Finding the Needle...
HealthNewsFlash was launched in 2002 as an innovative service for health professionals, medical researchers and those who suffer,
or whose spouse, child or parent suffers from a chronic illness or disease. Recognizing that it was
too time consuming to be practical for people to try and keep on top of the flood of information
created each day, we set out to create an easy to use research tool.
Conventional search engines only have access to information freely available on the Internet
and often return out-dated and even unreliable information. This weakness, combined with their
tendency to return largely the same information day after day, made them poorly suited for the
task of on-going research. And while some sites offer newsletters on health conditions, they
cover mostly the "headline" news and only in broad categories.
There was an obvious demand for a service that could provide not only comprehensive,
in-depth research to ensure every relevant article is found, but also be flexible
enough to match the specific needs of each individual.
